Dress Code

Men: long pants, long sleeves.
Women: head covering, long sleeves, long dress or skirt.
Orthodox clergy should wear cassocks or riassas and should bring vestments of the appropriate color if they plan to serve (red vestments on Pilgrimage weekend).

Directions to the Monastery from I-64 near Huntington

  1. Take exit #8, Hwy 152, and head south.
  2. Drive about 14 miles, pass the Wal-Mart on your left, then a Saw Mill on your right.
  3. At the H&R Block sign (on your left) make a sharp left turn. This is Wilson Creek Rd.
  4. Go about 4 miles on Wilson Creek Rd keeping to the left (follow double yellow lines)
  5. Turn right at Millers Fork Rd, Note: There is currently no road sign for Millers Fork Road, but there is a sign which reads "Holy Cross Monastery."
  6. Drive about 2 miles on Millers Fork.
  7. Take Left Fork of Millers Fork Rd. about 2 more miles (at the fork you will see a second sign for the monastery)
  8. Watch for a third sign : "Holy Cross Monastery"
  9. Turn right at the gravel road over the large culvert at the sign.
  10. Bear left up the gravel road, past the sign, about 1/2 mile.


Directions to Beech Fork State Park from the Monastery

  1. From the monastery, return to Wilson Creek Rd.
  2. Turn right on Wilson Creek Rd. and continue about eight miles.
  3. Turn left into the State Park Office parking lot.
  4. The banquet hall is to the right of the offices.
