Mudslide at the Monastery

View of the mudslide

In early May of this year, after heavy rainfall, a serious mudslide began on the monastery grounds. It exposed the foundation of our newly built carpentry shop, cracking the concrete floor. The monastery consulted professional engineers, who gave a repair estimate of $17,000. Since then, we have continued to experience heavy rainfall while attempting to develop a workable (and affordable) solution.

We have rented repair equipment and will attempt to support the roof on that side of the building with steel beams reinforced with concrete. The slope below the carpenter shop will be landscaped with walled terraces to prevent future slippage at the site.

The brotherhood of Holy Cross Monastery asks for your continued prayers concerning this matter.

I would like to donate $ to help the monastery.
